Re: Daily to Eternity
A life once spent is irrevocable. It will remain to be contemplated
through eternity....The same may be said of each day. When it is once
past, it is gone forever. All the marks which we put upon it, it will
exhibit forever....Each day will not only be a witness of our conduct,
but will affect our everlasting destiny....How shall we then wish to
see each day marked with usefulness...! It is too late to mend the
days that are past. The future is in our power. Let us, then, each
morning, resolve to send the day into eternity in such a garb as we
shall wish it to wear forever. And at night let us reflect that one
more day is irrevocably gone, indelibly marked.
--Adoniram Judson
"But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will
give account of it in the day of judgment. (Mat 12:36)
"Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the
light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be
proclaimed on the housetops. (Lk12:3)
"But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of
you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' "So is
he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
(Lk12:20-21)
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I
do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to
those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of
the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil3:13-14)
"..but let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other
foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus
Christ. (1Cor3:11) "..on this Rock I will build My church. (Mt16:18)
"..whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him
to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended,
the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did
not fall, for it was founded on the rock. (Mt7:24-25)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His
commandments, For this is man's all. For God will bring every work
into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.
(Ecc12:13-14)
