*** MORSEL EXTRAS***
Re: True Teachers
False teachers...have success...and people bear with them. But no
patience is to be exercised toward true teachers...! There is only
judgment, condemnation and scorn. Hence the office of preaching is a
grievous one. He who has not for his sole motive the benefit of his
neighbor and the glory of God cannot continue therein. The true teacher
must labor, and permit others to have the honor and profit of his
efforts, while he receives injury and derision for his reward.
....Martin Luther
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
(Jn10:11)
For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men
condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world,
both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are
wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished,
but we are dishonored! To the present hour we both hunger and thirst,
and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor,
working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted,
we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of
the world, the offscouring of all things until now. (1Cor4:9-13)
And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the
more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved. (2Cor12:15)
