Re: Spiritual Adultery

Many Christians have the misconception that to win the world to Christ we must first...make unconverted sinners feel confortable with the Christian message....Give them something they want. Put on a show. Entertain them. Avoid sensitive subjects like sin and damnation....The strategy is to tantalize non-Christians rather than confront their unbelief. That is altogether incompatible with sound doctrine. It is compromise with the world. James called it spiritual adultery. --John MacArthur

...this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:36-38)

...Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done throught the apostles...So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things. And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch. Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, (Acts 2:43, 5:11-14) (VW)
