Re: You Are Not Your Own

We are not our own, we are God's. To Him, therefore, let us live and die. We are God's. Toward Him, therefore, let every part of our lives be directed. We are not our own; therefore, as far as possible, let us forget ourselves and the things that are ours....we are God's; let us, therefore, live and die to Him (Rom 14:8) [and]...let His wisdom and will preside over all our actions --John Calvin (1509-64)

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Cor 6:19-20)

For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. (Rom 14:7-9) (VW)
