I wonder whether you would be so kind as to read the following article? (vw: link not included here)

This is written by a family friend and I was one of those "narrow minded"Christians WHO posted on her FB when she first said she is attending the concert. My question to her was what has light and darkness have to do with each other and that being friends with the world is enmity with God. What followed was her and a few friends exclaiming my narrow mindedness and that I have no love etc. and yet profess to be a Christian.

I would appreciate your thoughts. Maybe there is something wrong with me and I need to re-evaluate my stance.

I look forward to hearing from you.

One thing -is- true....gaga -is- a 'quality' act. The bits I've seen on TV....she is an excellent pianist and singer (said from my professional musical background). She has shared the microphone/stage with the likes of Tony Bennet And if a person doesn't stop to consider that she and everything she stands for is UTTERLY DEPRAVED....she puts together a 'good' show. The dance moves are well-rehearsed and 'tight'. (Said as though I was an American Idol judge.)

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
I am having a hard time even wrapping my mind around the twisted 'logic' of that post by your 'family friend'. And I certainly don't want to re-read it to try to 'understand' it better. If I am understanding the overall gist correctly it is the reasoning of: What's wrong with a Christian going to a pop concert? Can't Christians go along, and not be so "preachy" such as to sour the "loving" relationships a person has with others who go to such shows.

When God's Word (Jesus) says to live a "pure" life, why would somebody claiming to be a "christian" (who "bats for the same team") even consider, for a moment, that it is OK to covort around nearly naked and make the kind of suggestive moves that leaves NOTHING to the immagination. (That's -NOT- "pop". It's the realm of the most depraved night clubs, stripping poles, and sex dens.) And this is not something that needs "dialogue" to "discuss" the intricacies of -what- and -how- in order to "understand" it better. Anybody of the world -knows- what it is. The only "explanation" needed is for the sake of the person who -knows- it is evil, but is seeking explanation/excuse for why it is OK. For self-justification as they seek to give "license" (Ju1:4) to what they know, in their hearts, is evil. To explain it -away-.

And no....Jesus does not accept us "just as we are" sloshing around in the swill. If a person has been in that swill, and they come to Jesus.....they do NOT come to Jesus, still sloshing around in the swill with some of the excrement splashing up on Jesus (please pardon the example here) How ya doin', Jesus? We've been having a great time here, huh. Splash, splash, splash. Chuckle, chuckle. Can I be your friend, too? (feels dirty even just -saying- these words!!!)

When Isaiah saw God's holiness he bemoans,

Isa 6:5 Then I said, Woe is me! for I am undone! for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.
And when God shows Job His grandeur,
Job42:5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen You. 6 Therefore I despise myself, and have repented in dust and ashes.
Anybody who would go to such a show, thinking it is pleasing to God to do so, DOES NOT KNOW GOD....and His holiness!

Your signature verse by which you close your e-mails is correct:

1Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God
