Re: From Above as far as Below

"And behold! The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to
bottom." (Mt27:51 -mkjv)

As most of you recall, I'm working on the (c) 1998 updates for the LITV
at the website, for J.Green. Today was "Matthew." This verse was so
precious when I saw what the sentence actually says, word-for-word.

"And, behold! The veil of the temple was torn into two from above as
far as below." (litv)

When Jesus died on the cross and paved the way for direct access to the
"throne of grace" (Heb4:16) it was not MERELY the veil in that Herodian
temple in Jerusalem, that day, that was torn. Recall that the things on
earth followed the "patterns" of things in the heavenlies.
(Ex25:9,Heb8:5) Also, recall, that when Jesus died and rose again He
conquered death. (1Cor15:54) He crushed the serpent's head. (Gen3:15)

So, when the psalmist says, "As far as the east is from the west, so
far has He removed our transgressions from us" (Ps103:12) that is
possible because of what the veil symbolized. And He came "from above"
(Jn8:23) and went "as far as below" (Ps16:10,1Pt3:19) to purchase our
redemption with His blood. (Eph1:7)
