Re: Welcome Home
About a week ago I did this "Welcome Home" banner for a customer. Usually around here something with "Welcome Home" is for returning military. So, as the lady was in to pick up the finished banner, I asked generically, "Military?" figuring she would then tell which branch. And amazingly, no. "Getting out of prizon." First time I've done one of those.
Her son had been "made an example of" and had spent the last however-many years in prizon. Went in when he was too young to drive, and is now in his 20s. So I made the comment/question...He doesn't have is driver's license yet, then? And she told how her husband had picked up this Camaro and was fixing it up for him.
Now...get this. This lady ordered the banner in June. Guess when the fellow is being released? November. Talk about "planning ahead"!! None of this: I need this sign for this coming week-end, it's Thursday now, am I too laaaaate?
Remember that other case...the spies directed Rahab to hang the cord in the open window. -When- did she hang it?
When is Salvation? "Now is the day of salvation" (2Co6:2) When does God forgive the repentant sinner? "Today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Lk23:43) If you want to 'wait' til next week-end, it might be too late.
When is the Rapture? Next month during war games? Maybe God will 'surprise' us all and it might be later tonight? Apparently Israel and the US are to hold their own war games against Iran in November. Will it be January 13 (if I remember the date correctly), when the "Real ID" is supposed to be enacted in this country, and certain "prophecy" groups are talking about the "mark of the beast", as that is near Innauguration Day for our next (or same?) president?
You can't "make plans" for your Eternal Destiny. If you decide you need to "make plans", as you take time to think about it, then it will be too late, and Jesus will reply, "I never knew you". Yes...some of you that call yourselves "christian", He will deny knowing you and will say, "Depart from Me, you who work out lawlessness". But Lord: We've been doing all these wonderful works "in Your name". He calls them "lawlessness". And John calls your lawless good deeds "sin" (1Jn3:4) To "make plans" suggests that you are looking INTO THE FUTURE, some further 'time', but NOT RIGHT NOW. Jesus says, "the time is at hand" and everyone gets according to "their works" Whatever they are 'now' at -this- 'time' is where they remain. (Re22:10-12)
Yes, this local mother is -already- welcoming home her son, and dad is making his own preparations. If your heart is repentant....
