Re: Party Time!

"..behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating
flesh and drinking wine, saying, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we
die!" (Is22:13)

Now see..? God wants us to be happy, joyful and having a grand ol' time!
Call everybody over; It's party time! Let's get 'down' and Par-Tay!!

Is this not what today's so-called "church" is doing? After all, I got
my Bible out, closed my eyes, let the pages fall open, swung my finger
around in circles as it came down and lit upon this verse; I opened my
eyes and... "this calf came out". (Ex32:24) This verse is in the Bible,
and God "led-my-finger" to it...therefore, it's God's "will"!

Partying with rock bands, dancing with sensual gyrations, groping hands
in the mosh pit, getting 'drunk-in-the-spirit', having 'spiritual
orgies', and everything else that has replaced the "Reading" of
Scriptures (1Tm4:13) and "sound doctrine". (2Tm4:3) Just like
rebellious Israel: "..they...offered burnt offerings, and brought peace
offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to
play" before their golden calf. (Ex32:6)

There are handfuls of God's prophets here and there today proclaiming,
"Repent!" But people are retorting, "We don't need to repent! God wants
me to be wealthy and happy."

But this verse your 'finger' landed on? What came before it?

"And in that day Jehovah of Hosts called for weeping and mourning, and
for baldness, and for girding with sackcloth." (vs12) Yes...that which
accompanies "repentance". Today's church strums its guitars before God
and calls it "worship", but God says, "Take away from Me the noise of
your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your lutes." (Am5:23)
(Lutes were the predecessors to guitars) Today's church insists that
they are being like David, following translations that tell them to make
a "noise" to God, where Scripture actually says to "shout joyfully unto
Jehovah" (Ps100:1) But regarding the apostasy God says, "These people
draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but
their heart is far from Me. And in vain they revere Me, teaching as
doctrines the commandments of men." (Mt15:8-9)

They -claim- to be "christians", while at the same time "tearing down
walls" of God's doctrine; thus, "causing divisions". (Rom16:17) Claiming
to "love" Jesus, but rejecting His commandments. (Jn14:15)

The exhortation is: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you
double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned
to mourning and your joy to shame. Humble yourselves in the sight of
the Lord, and He will exalt you." (Jac4:8-10)

In other words: Stop your partying, and repent!

Now, if today's pretend church refuses to heed God's warnings... where
your 'finger' landed on the page? Here's the next verse:

"Surely this iniquity shall not be atoned until you die, says the Lord
Jehovah of Hosts." (Is22:14)

Amen!
