" How Do We Live? "
"Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, of what sort ought
you to be in holy behavior and godliness, looking for and earnestly
hastening unto the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens
will be dissolved, being set on fire, and the elements will melt with
intense burning? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new
heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore,
beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him
in peace, spotless and without blemish" (2Pt3:11-14)
As Paul foretold today, the "last days", we live in "perilous times"
"For men [are] lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural
affection, unyielding, slanderers, without self-control, savage,
despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its
power. And from such people turn away." (2Ti2:1-5)
In addition, as Jesus said would be the case, there are "wars and rumors
of wars", and earthquakes, famine, pestilence, people being persecuted
and killed, false prophets. (Mt24:6-13)
In addition, there are the things the Bible doesn't mention specifically
by modern terminology, but there is HAARP energy technology that is said
to be capable of inducing earthquakes and changing the weather, and some
speculate it is already being used. Some seeing blue energy hue in the
sky speak of time/space/vortex technology. Some watch space for all the
things flying out there, some headed in the direction of earth.
Betelgeuse is said to be nearing fuel-depletion, and will soon go into
super-nova such that when it happens, it will be as though we have two suns, and there will be no night (darkness).(Zec14:7) Some speak of
astronomical objects coming to earth, causing it to stop rotating,
reversing rotational direction, resuming again, magnetic poles flipping
a few times, of continents splitting apart, and such.
"The earth has been badly broken! The earth is split open and cracked
through! The earth has shaken greatly and is tottering! Like a drunkard
the earth is staggering back and forth! And it sways to and fro like a
hut! Its transgressions have been heavy upon it; and it shall fall and
not rise again." (Is24:19-20)
Many of the world speak of UFOs and aliens. Some believe that aliens are
presently living on earth amongst us. Those with more specific knowledge
speak of the 'return' of the ancient 'gods' of mythology. Where did
those god's come from in the first place? From the "days of Noah"
(Mt24:37) when the demons spawned hybrid creatures with women...."men of
renown" (Ge6:4) And Daniel prophesies that something similar will happen
during the end-time kingdom with hybrid-like interbreeding. (Dan2:43)
Some are putting forth information on current nano-technology which also
uses recombinant DNA technology to intermix genetics and technology.
Not to mention, the politically oriented machinations of certain UN
AGENDA 21 orientations that seek to eventually purposely kill off vast
segments of humanity, reducing it down to 10% of the present population
for the purposes of 'restoring' MOTHER EARTH into "sustainability".
It's not necessary to provide resources to all these topics: if you are
reading this, it means you have internet access and can look up a whole
multitude of links, and expand your search on any single one of these
topics; and if a person delves out far enough, one can paint quite a
bleak picture of imminent doom, catastrophe and annihilation.
And then there's the aspect for which reason this ministry exists: The holy living of Biblical Christians, in stark contrast to the sinful world that surrounds us and would seek to divert us from God's holy righteous path; and following Jesus Christ. (Heb12:1-2)
A recent visitor to the website asks:
"How are we as believers supposed to live in these difficult days. Do we
worry? Do we go into a wilderness? Should we not have any fear and just
live in joy and peace?"
I suspect each person is going to approach life differently. I enjoy
riding motorcycle; some are deathly afraid of them. Many years ago I
have flown in small planes, and enjoyed when the pilot would turn the
wheel over to me to fly around. Parasailing was fun; although more
peaceful and 'calm' than I would have imagined before I actually did it.
But that tall slide, that was another thing. Years ago when camping in
the Black Hills of SDakota, we went to this water sports area that had
this -tall- slide. From the ground it didn't look so impressive. But
climb up the stairs and at the top, looking down to the pool of water,
seemingly almost -straight- down, it was 'scary' to anticipate pushing
off. But once sliding... extremely exhilarating.
Perhaps anticipating all the things that are about to come are like that
water slide? Or perhaps like jumping out of the plane to skydive? What
will the Rapture be like? If we die and then are resurrected, what are
the "gates of death" like? (Job38:17) Supposing we are called on to go
through persecution? Supposing the government decides it's time to round
up the Christians and put us in concentration camps, with everything
Do Christians -never- have any fear?
"For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our affliction
which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened exceedingly, beyond
strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of
death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who
raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does
deliver us, in whom we hope that He will still deliver us" (2Co1:8-10)
That word "despair" is way past mere 'fear' isn't it.
"When I am afraid I trust in You." (Ps56:3)
Notice the psalmist does not chastise himself for -being- afraid. There
are some so-called christians who will chastise anybody who admits to
being afraid, as though their fear is a lack of trusting God. That to
fear indicates a sinful and backslidden heart. But notice the words:
"when" I am afraid. In other words, there -are- going to be times of
fear in this life. But what does the Christian do with the fear?
Recognize that the fear is there, it is natural; but then, TRUST GOD!
Are there worries?
If persecution comes? Jesus said...
"But when they persecute you in this city, flee to another" (Mt10:23)
And when the early church was persecuted and fled...
"Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the Word."
Sometimes the "fleeing" will put one in the wilderness, like Elijah when
he was running from Jezebel. Sometimes we are wounded and need time to
heal. God sends the ravens to feed us. (1Ki17:4) But then He says,
"Arise, go..." (vs9) "Go, present yourself to Ahab..." (18:1) Get up,
get going, get back to work.
Do we live in joy and peace? Certainly.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace
of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
minds in Christ Jesus." (Php4:6-7)
The thing that characterizes my heart in these days (not saying that
everybody feels exactly as I do) is eager anticipation of the
fulfillment of current events, to result in the establishment of
Messiah's Kingdom of Peace and Justice. Sometimes when I see news events
I often mutter within myself, "Let's get -ON- with it! Let's get this
world leveled and destroyed, and let Messiah straighten up all the mess
that the devil has had his hands in." When I see the news of tornadoes,
floods, earthquakes; interspersed with commercials with naked females,
promotion of perversity and demons, and all things related: "Just SWEEP
IT ALL AWAY! Get rid of it all!" And set up...
"...His kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with
justice from now on, even forever." (Is9:7b)
As Peter says, "earnestly hastening"; and John closes with, "Even so,
come, Lord Jesus" (Re22:20)
We are looking for the "new heavens...IN WHICH RIGHTEOUSNESS DWELLS". If
we are anticipating going there, our earnest desire is to be living such
a way as to be found "spotless"; the Church "not having spot or wrinkle
or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish"
We are looking to be "like" Jesus, because we will see Him "as He is",
therefore our goal is to be -pure- "just as He is pure" (1Jn3:2-3)
So then...are we to be joining together in ecumenism, unity and love;
"tearing down walls" of doctrinal differences that divide us, dialoguing
and "having conversation" with every wind of doctrine that is blowing by
and swirling about in tornadoes of activity? (Eph4:14) Those who 'twist' (2Pt3:16) and 'wrangle' with the truth, and having a form of godliness but are "liars, and the truth is not in" them? (1Jn2:4)
"From such withdraw yourself" ... "from such people turn away" (1Ti6:5,
And certainly, it will be those very people who will come against us
with persecution. Jesus said they will...
"...put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever
kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they
will do to you because they do not know the Father nor Me. But these
things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that
I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the
beginning, because I was with you" (Jn16:2-4)
As one looks, overall, at the days in which we live, Jesus says...
"See that you are not troubled..." (Mt24:6)
