" 'Happy' Birthday, America? "

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a shame to any people." (Pr14:34)

This 'birthday' (July 4) our nation is having this year is nothing necessarily spectacular compared to any other year. It is not a "bicentennial". This one is merely the last one of the millennium. And the last one over which the current administration presides. Hopefully!!

While we give "honor to whom honor is due" (Rom13) in the appropriate settings, our Constitution happens to allow its citizens the freedom to express their views. So far..!! When John the Baptist condemned Herod for his immorality (Mt14:4) he was imprisoned, and ultimately beheaded. And how many O.T. prophets spoke out against Israel's sin and that of her wicked kings. Many of them were martyred. You can be sure that VW is likely on several "lists", too, for when the time is fully ripe.

America is currently considered to be the "most powerful nation in the world", both militarily and economically. Does this make her "exalted"? Is she "righteous"? History tells us that one of the reasons people fled to what became the United States, was so that they could be free to worship God. If you look at a dollar bill, George Washington, our first president, is depicted on its face. On the back it says, "In God we trust". Our Pledge of Allegiance to the flag includes the words "..one nation, under God..." But when your eyes move a bit to the left side of the back of that dollar bill, you also see the occult "all seeing eye" at the top of heathenism's object of worship, the pyramid. The "Washington Monument" is a heathen "obelisk". So, what "god" does America worship?

I came to the US in 1960, after growing up 11 years in Japan. Back then, there was still a generic mentality that America was a "christian nation". One afternoon while riding the school bus home out to the farm (in N.Dakota), I asked the neighbor kid (who lived across the creek and pasture, up on the hill) if he was a 'christian'. He said, "yes". When I asked him how he knew, "Because I'm an American". Being "an American" was synonymous with being "a christian". The nation was founded on so-called "christian principles".

This past Memorial Day I happened by a local cemetery as I was out riding my bicycle, and they were set up for a memorial service, so I stopped to observe. During this service they prayed to "god". Which god is this? It was an all-inclusive 'god' of the diversities of the various beliefs of all present there that day. Since it was obvious they were not praying to The Most High (Who happens to be my God), I could not bring myself to obey the officiator's barked order, "men, uncovered", as I was wearing a cap. I could not honor -their- 'god/s'. [Editor: although I did 'uncover' for the raising of the flag, and National Anthem.]

So, if we (nationally) don't have righteousness due to the fact that The Most High is not our god, do we have "sin"? Does our nation have "shame" [reproach -nkjv/kjv]?

Oh my! Where do we begin.. and end!

Several decades ago the Supreme Court decreed that, in spite of the fact that we are supposedly "endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", that it is OK to kill our unborn. Babies don't have those same rights. Why? Because they are "inconvenient" to one's -lifestyle-. A couple is messing around and she gets "knocked up", we can't be -bothered- with the 'consequences' of our actions. [Editor: like the commercial for medication to treat genital herpes, the gal who is obviously on the fast track says, "I don't have time for all (those other cumbersome remedies), (and with flirtatious twinkle in eye) "I've got a life."] Now, they call it -her- "right to choose". After all, it's "her body". Well... what about her -baby's- "rights"?? God designed motherhood to nurture, not kill! They are going "against nature". (Rom1:26)

For many years there have been various attempts and successes at banning representations of what people perceive of God from public view. Children could not "pray" in school. They cannot "pray" at public school functions like graduation without fear of either arrest or loss of diploma. [Editor: as this is being written (6-19-00), this evening's news had the Supreme Court's latest decision, banning 'official' student-led public prayer at athletic events on 'government property'..'government sanctioned events' at schools.] They cannot display God's "Ten Commandments" in public places. And yet, there is no problem displaying depictions of demons from their favorite rock stars, or shrines to Isis and Horus. They can freely receive condoms to pursue their "boys will be boys" activities. After all, that's what our president does...!

And speaking of the President, and this administration; we could speak of his Oval Office escapades. But that perversion is not limited to the Prevaricator-in-Chief. There is hardly anything left to watch on prime time TV. If a person ignores the sitcoms which are continually preaching immorality, perversion, tolerance-for-evil, and anti-God rhetoric; consider the shows where actual people talk and express their views. Does Jay Leno ever talk about much of anything besides sex during his monologues? Any attractive female guest is ogled, and either praised or snided depending on how successfully she has put herself together and what she is wearing. Even if she is dressed elegantly and behaving demurely, he manages to get in some perverse, suggestive comment/s to/about her. Consider the attitudes of Bill Mahrer and guests on "Politically Incorrect". Anybody who appears on the show with any sense of decency is interrupted to shreds. Not to mention the disgusting programs like Saturday N ight Live, MAD TV, Jerry Springer, etc. Obviously, if people didn't watch them, these programs would not be on TV.

And then we wonder "WHY?" Why would a crowd of 'good ol' American boys', with no prior police records assault and molest females in gang-fashion in New York's Central Park? They're "-GOOD-" boys. Why do they do it? We wonder "WHY?" Why do sports fans come away from athletic events, pillaging and looting, setting fires to cars, and acting, generally, like a bunch of baboons jumping up and down in the jungle? And this population reelected the man in the Oval Office, knowing what kind of person he is. What he is, is what society is. They claim to be JUST NOW "discovering" that there's violence and sexual indecencies in schools. I can tell you that it was there 30-40 years ago. Kids got into fights; boys 'felt up' the girls in crowded halls and stairwells; sodomites harassed other boys; and I can still remember the P.E. locker room talk (yes, even at Bible college!). Just like the days of Noah, prior to God's judgment, "every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continu ally." (Gen6:5) Not only do they do these things, they "have pleasure in those practicing them." (Rom1:32b) Just as in Noah's day where the earth was "filled with violence" (Gen6:11); while S.Africa may be one of the most violent 'free' nations, the US portrays it on prime time TV such as WWF's "SmackDown" where the object seems to be to portray as much violence and ludeness as possible. While we may be the most affluent nation on earth, our morals and appetite for blood rivals that of Rome shortly before its fall. Rome didn't know she was about at an end until it was too late... just as the US does not, now.

America, your end as a world superpower is upon you! In addition to your sin and immorality, your Commander-in-Chief has been committing treason, selling you out to your enemies. But I know that you don't care, as long as you have all your expensive toys and your stock portfolio is bursting at the seems. But even that is a paper chase. Those 'numbers' will crumble around you when it happens. And happen, it will! Suddenly, in "one day". (Rev18:8)

Now, as Believers into Jesus Christ, if we think that the Constitution safeguards us because of "religious freedom", think again. The current administration and government is so corrupt, when campaign improprieties were uncovered, rather than keeping the administration from retaining office for a second term, it was all swept under the rug, claiming immunity until after the term expires. The Attorney General has stifled investigations that would have removed both men from office. Of course, she was handpicked -by- the administration. Convenient!

Anybody remember Waco, TX? This attorney general did that. Remember the totalitarian-style nighttime armed raid to abduct a little boy at gunpoint, whose mother died bringing him to freedom, who after the boy was safely with relatives in this country, the father is reported as having asked them by phone (from Cuba) to "take good care of him", knowing he had successfully escaped to "freedom"? [Editor: talk about "gun violence"!! And by the time you read this, he'll probably be back under the dictator ruler!] That was the same attorney general, who claimed Waco was a 'mistake' and she "bore the responsibility" for it. A country of "freedom"? Constitutional safeties against illegal government assaults against its citizens?

This is just the warm-up for when Believers will be under attack. Note the attitudes of this current attorney general about Christians, from the following quote attributed to her: "A cultist is one who has a strong belief in the Bible and the Second Coming of Christ; who frequently attends Bible studies; who has a high level of financial giving to a Christian cause; who home schools their children; who has accumulated survival foods and has strong belief in the Second Amendment; and who distrusts big government. Any of these may qualify a person as a cultist but certainly more than one of these would cause us to look at this person as a threat and his family as being in a risk situation that qualifies for government interference."

We already know of statements by both the President and his vice-Prevaricator regarding missionary work and evangelism, as being "hate" activity. Anyone who reacts to evil and acts on that is guilty of "hate crimes". Lately the TV 'The-More-You-Know' spots are talking about how hate crimes begin with "hate speech". We who are Christians are engaging in "hate" activities and speech, when we label sin as "sin", the way the Bible does. If a sodomite is labelled for what he is, such a label is "hate".

Other than Israel, who was a theocracy under Jehovah, the United States is the only other nation in history that has been labelled as a "christian nation" in the way we have been. And yet, its rulers are now "plotting together against the LORD and against His anointed.." (Ps2:2) When Jesus was crucified both Rome and Israel condemned Him, God's "Anointed". Now, just as Israel rejected Christ's followers and persecuted them; this nation that once prided itself on godliness and decency is setting itself up to go after God's anointed... Believers. (1Jn2:27a)

Schools can host TM and Yoga, but not student initiated-and-led prayer meetings. States can mandate seat belt laws (allegedly to "save lives"), but murdering the unborn is acceptable. Any kind of witnessing attempting to warn people away from hell because a person 'loves' the lost, as they try to "snatch them out of the fire" (Jude23) is called "hate".

Well, we think, once the current administration is voted out this next fall, things will be better. If G.W.Bush is elected, will things be any better? Remember it was his father who eight years ago was coining the expression, "New World Order". And it is the United Religions that will tolerate all religions and beliefs...EXCEPT...Faith in Christ.

Reno's words should be a wake-up call, even to many who claim to be "Christians"; those who believe the Bible, and anticipate Christ's return, and participate in Bible studies. Depending on how much longer it is yet before the Lord comes for us, this government "of the people, by the people and for the people" will be coming for us. They will need to "interfere" because we are a "cult". Of course, the Moonie cults, Mormon cults and satan worshippers will have freedom. It will just be us who stand upon God's Word who will be targeted.

"..blessed is nation whose god is the Lord." (Ps33:12) That certainly is no longer the United States!

"Behold, the eye of the LORD is to those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy; to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be on us, according as we hope in You." (Ps33:18-22)

Amen!
